Student Articulation

When we place students, here is how we do it:

  1. Students each have a information card that has basic information and some academic levels. Current teachers and their grade level team meet and organize these cards/students into new classes. Their goal is to create balanced classes based on ability, ethnicity, gender, and student performance. They also work with special education and resource teachers to help make these decisions. I am also included to support. 
  2. Then the teams give me these groups of students that are placed into classes. During the summer, we include all new students into the classes as they come in. 
  3. Later in the summer, I assign teachers to the classes. I use input from parents and staff. Sometimes we make adjustments to the groupings for a variety of reasons. As an administrative team, we review these and try to make the most appropriate and effective teacher/student match that we can. Admittedly this can be difficult and takes a lot of time, but is definitely worth it!
  4. Teachers will be announced, once we receive all paperwork at Back To School Bonanza.
